I don't know that I'm well qualified to advise you, but I read the Da Vinci Code (after hearing much hype both from the local press and friends who had read it) and it didn't do much for me... Having said that, I am not a believer in either religion or conspiracy theories, so on reflection, it wasn't a good choice. If you have a theological bent, it may be for you?
