Marc:

My advice of not feeding the dog table scraps just so happens to have been the recommendation of every dog training and/or care book that I have ever seen, read, or heard of in my lifetime of having a close relationship with many dogs --- both purebred and mutts.

This is also the advice which every animal doctor attempts to give the human companions of their many "patients." Do not feed the dog table scraps of human food. However, upon not taking this advice from the doctor's that know this subject better than you or I ever could, will more than likely spell trouble or an early death for the animal.

The dog that my wife and I currently live with, BEAR, is a mutt, and a very good companion besides. However, he likes to eat 24 hours a day, and he would weigh 300 lbs. if my wife and I fed him every time he was "hungry."

Like I said, if you don't believe me, call your vet and see what they say. I would be very surprised if any vet recommends feeding any dog table scraps.

However, it is purely up to the animal's human companions if they wish to follow this sound medical advice.

Call your vet, and let me know what they say, okay?

Peace and Prayers,
