First, let me say that I've been a fan of DB since D+D, and remember eagerly devouring any mention of him or a new album in Rolling Stone in the late 80s and early 90s. I was thrilled to stumble across this site about a year or so ago, but I never really felt the need to add to the conversation. I love DB's music, and his lyrics never fail to touch me and make me think.
Now, to Kent: Please do not even casually insinuate that the government was behind the bombing in Oklahoma City. I was in Oklahoma in April 1995. Two years later, I was prosecuting members of right wing militias for tax evasion in Missouri; they used the exact same arguments in court that were used by Tim McVeigh in letters he wrote to newspapers ("The United States does not exist . . . I am a citizen of the corporate state of [fill in the blank - but use only lowercase letters] . . . This court is invalid because your flag has gold fringe, which is a flag of admirilty . . . and on and on.). I was sued by a group of them in a kangaroo court in someone's basement. After a few of them were criminally convicted and sentenced for filing invalid liens (for millions of dollars) against various judges and prosecutors, most of them dropped the act. Some, like McVeigh, were true believers - and terrorists. Were more people involved in the Oklahoma City bombing besides McVeigh, Nichols and Fortier? Probably. Was the government? No.
I've read your posts for a while, Kent, and they're sometimes interesting and sometimes funny. 168 people died in Oklahoma City, please don't make such careless remarks.
