If you would be so kind, could you briefly explain the basic ideologies and agenda of the Liberal and the Labor Parties in Australia? From what I perceive your post is saying that Mr. Garret is joining forces with a Party that doesn't necessarily agree with his own politics and image he had with his former band, Midnight Oil.

BTW, The Oils were and will remain one of my favorite bands of all time. I miss them dearly!
