Dan:That message was in response to Pat going out of his way for more
than two months of making malicious and off-topic comments
about me. By the time of the posting of that message, I had simply
had enough. However, while I am on the topic of civility --- what do you have to
say about this?Last night, I received a phone call from a DBIS member, who I had
never spoken to on the phone before. I won't say who it is, because
if he does, he can reply to this message to confirm this.During our conversation, we turned to the subject of civility on this
message board. The DBISer said to me the following:"One of the most outrageous things I have ever read on the DBIS,
was when you were attacked for standing up in a picture next to
David."Now, if you want to talk about and reference things from the past,
let's talk about this one.In the summer of 1993, I was hit by a car while walking home from
the beach. I spent the entire rest of that summer in bed, using
more than $200,000 in clotting products to get my bleeding under
control. When Paula and I went to meet David, I wasn't going to have the
photo of that moment feature myself in a wheelchair. So, with great
effort and tremendous pain, I stood up and walked ten feet to have
a photo taken of me and David and Will Sexton. For my efforts, I was called a lair, a cheater, and one who draws
upon people's sympathy. Those who made those ridiculous
accusations never bothered to tell me what benefit there would be
for me in lying about something like this. Also Dan, you are in medical school. Go ask whomever you need
to, how fucked up someone would have to be to get a prescription
for 800mg of Morphine per day. But, I'm faking, of course. That's
what I was accused of.Also, in the phone call last night, myself and the caller agreed that
the mean-spiritedness here doesn't have anything to do with any
one person. It is a symptom of the way our society is crumbling. Also, while I am on the topic of old shit, let me say that I was pretty
pissed off how Kevin attempted to paint my interaction with David's
wife --- which as I informed him, had to do with my mailing him a
letter, and none of the other nonsense Kevin was trying to shovel.Lastly Dan, just for my own curiosity --- of what benefit is it to
rehash conversations that happened over a year ago? How does
that make the DBIS any better of a place for people to hang out?Kevin obviously does not like me. But, for your involvement, what
benefit is there for you to involve yourself in his argument?Or do YOU also want to see my act of contrition?Just curious . . . P.S. - If I am the BAD GUY around here, and every ill feeling is
somehow my doing or my fault --- then how do you explain
George's recent behavior toward David? Or Kevin G's continuing
"Abortion Man" routine, which has gotten him in some HOT WATER
here recently?Don't you think this is getting a little old? Why keep revisiting
subjects that have no resolution? Or no resolution you will accept?KDB = Buffalo, NY USA
