Reg:

I have had a recent experience with the now ex-boyfriend of my wife's best friend, that kind of reminds me of the behaviour of which you speak.

This guy is the absolute worst alcoholic that I have ever seen in my entire life. The only way that he could feel good about himself is by raising all manner of hell for others.

Combine with that, a compulsion to lie constantly, and it was nothing but a recipe for disaster.

He ultimately chose the bottle over the love of an excellent woman --- who is like a sister to me.

This is the NEUAMERIKA --- people so filled with self-loathing that they cannot stand to see another person smile.

It is so unfortunate that these people spend so much time and effort on such negativity --- instead of doing something else that would make them feel like they were accomplishing something. If they spent half as much time at self-improvement as they do in trying to destroy others peace of mind --- they might find that they suddenly have nothing to bitch about.

The best method of dealing with someone like this is to stop responding to their childish antics.
