Hello Folks,
As promissed, Early last month I posted a Top Ten list of CD's that I recently purchased and/or CD's I'm listening to at the moment. I was out of town and I'm a little late on this months list. So, here goes:
IN MY ROOM- Kevin's TOP TEN CD's - October 2002
1.) Josh Ritter-"Come and Find Me" EP
2.) Manu Chao-"Radio Bemba Sound System"
3.) Sinead O'Connor-"Sean-Nos Nua"
4.) Josh Ritter-"Golden Age of Radio"
5.) Josh Ritter-"ST"
6.) Royksopp-"Melody A.M."
7.) Tift Meritt-"Bramble Rose"
8.) Various Artists-"Total Lee! The Songs of Lee Hazlewood"
9.) Coldplay-"A Rush of Blood to the Head"
10.) Peter Gabriel-"UP"
Well, as you can see I'm really into Josh Ritter lately. I have allready left a post or two about him and his music. If you are interested check out his website at: http://www.joshritter.com I was certainly disapointed with Peter Gabriel's new disc, but then again I guess I was expecting something new and different. Manu Chao's new disc is a very manic and busy sounding live disc. If you have not heard his music before, do not buy. I can't wait for the DVD later this year! The Lee Hazlewood tribute disc is worth checking out, if you are into alt. country or a fan of his music. Two killer tracks, one by the ultra talented, folk godess, KathrynWilliams. She has a new disc out as well. It's an import from her native country of England. I have it on my X'mass Wish List, so will wait. The new Sinead took me off guard. I wasn't expecting it to be soo traditional and mellow. Early reports were that it was to be a mix of afro/regaee and trad.Irish music. It's low on the beats, but heavy on her understaded, melancholy voice. Paul Weller has an new disc out right now as well, but I haven't gotten to my favorite import shop yet, where I have it on hold.
At the end of the month we will see the release of a new disc from the great Icelandic band, Sigur Ros. Early November, David Gray puts out his seventh album and U2's second "The Best Of" see's the light of day. I'm sure they all will be in heavy rotation in my car, work and home stereo's!
Cheers,
Kevin (from Arizona)
