Earlier today, I vented out my frustration with three members on this board and particular comments made. As usual, anger got the best of me and I typed some inappropriate words directed at those members (Kent, Pat and Dale). I am not sorry for lashing out at them, however I should have used a more mature, cohesive, well-written argument for rebuttal.
Let me start with the first member who enraged me, Kent. I cannot believe the tactics this man employs on this board to justify his agenda. The lowest, being his most recent Free Speech post. No rights need to be given to anyone who practices in lies, distorting the truth and incorrect History Revisionism to achieve a message a underlying, indirect message of hate. I have to agree with Gene on this one, Kent is an anti-Semite. He spreads a form of hatred, which is very misleading and has powerful consequences. There are more than a few remarks (posts); he has left on this board to back up my sentiment.
The second member, who upset me, was Pat. This morning when I went online, I had no idea I would be confronted with such ignorance and hate from someone I considered to be a fellow music fan and one that I have shared my tastes and generosity with. We have exchanged, on more than one occasion; DB related stuff and other CDR’s. Pat was kind enough to have sent me a DB live video, and autographed Austin newspaper publication, and a live CDR recording of a DB concert. I can no longer accept these items, because of the recent circumstances. This is in no way a reflection on David or his music, but it would constantly remind me of who and how I received it. Pat, no apology would ever suffice for what you wrote. I have spent 38 years of my life hearing, reading, experiencing so much hate directed at me for who I am, that I won’t ever tolerate it again. So, I can only pity you and your small-minded ways! And this brings me to my third gripe. Dale’s comment about the Gay Pride parade. Maybe I did over- react to your comments, but why because of one person’s flamboyance, do we classify, group, generalize and assume that all gay, bisexual, transgender men and women will either act the same way or that those actions will bring the whole group down. If that’s the case, then just go watch a Nascar race in person and you’ll see the downfall of all white American? No, it doesn’t and I don’t judge all heterosexuals because of Nascar, nor do I tell heterosexuals how they should dress, wear their hair or dance. The argument of "having a few good friends who are gay, but those certain few", doesn’t work in my book either. Dale, you are a good guy, and I shouldn’t have flared / typed those words. Just cut, "the I have some decent gay friends, but" bullshit, It’s like hearing someone say "I have a few black friends, therefore I can’t be racist". If I missunderstood your post, I'm sorry, but given the earlier post by Pat, I was a little heated up by that point.
I’m sorry if I offended anyone else out there. Please remember that DB fans can be Jewish and/or Gay as well, so watch what you say, you may divide the division of the board, even more.
Cheers Kevin (the Fag from AZ!)
