David Cross: In the tradition of Lenny Bruce

Greetings:As many of you know, the late BILL HICKS is very near and dear to
my heart. Bill was very clearly on a path laid out by Lenny Bruce,
and sadly, this Thursday (February 26, 2004) marks the tenth
anniversary of his passing. David Cross is one of my current
favorite comedians, he is someone that has never failed to make
me laugh so hard I thought I might piddle myself.Gene made a comment that David Cross appears to be the only
current comedian to represent direct lineage from Lenny Bruce
(and by extension, Bill Hicks). Happily, this isn't the case. There are
four other comedians with which I am personally familiar --- and
they also belong in the family that Lenny built.Here are these four men --- who truly deserve to be credited as
having lineage with Lenny Bruce (and by extension) Bill Hicks.
These people appear in the order that they are listed on the
webpages I list below:01) TOM RHODES - American comedian who lives in Amsterdam
(lucky fucker) --- perhaps one of the best comedians who are

Lewis is funny in an intelligent manner. Slightly manic, Lewis Black

Doug is one of the reasons why! This guy has a killer DVD out, and
it is one hell of a funny two hours! Merely comparing the

allowed to do on Comedy Central provides evidence of true
