that’s what I remember during my undergraduate days in Mass. I loved how people were so inhibited about talking politics and social issues. Then when I move to Arizona it couldn't have been more the opposite (and a much larger conservative and a Rep. population).
My mother uses to say that there are three topics you don’t bring up at a cocktail/dinner party: Money, Politics and Sex. When I lived in New Bedford, that's all we talked about, but Art was first, of course, and for many music was a close second.
I also wanted to let you know that humor is not my strong suit, so I hope you took no offense to my earlier remarks. I do realize that Austin is not really part of the Texas(s). What I would love to know is. While Bush Jr. was in Austin, was he really liked by the majority of the townspeople? I'm assuming that the city itself is majority Dem. or Ind. ?
Cheers, Kevin
