I started on a small scale nylon string at the same age.As much as I was dying for a Les Paul,my little hands couldn't hold the bloody thing let alone learn on it.Gene had some good advice re: brand names etc. I'd like to add Epiphone acoustics to the list.Epiphone is a part of the Gibson family and I personally own 2 Epi.acoustics,and 1 Epi. electric. Despite the paralysis I suffered a few yrs. back I still keep up to date on the latest axes n amps. Both Fender and Gibson have great websites.Good luckRegards,
