Well, I don't want to make Peter more nervous...but now I'm nervous...and I feel guilty because I think we both told Peter when we were sitting in the restaurant that there was no way Trump could win. I honestly believed that and basically have believed that until now.

Now, through nothing he has done and while he has seemed to be just attempting to flush his own campaign down the toilet, he is suddenly after a horrific few weeks for the Clinton campaign, in a position to win this thing. I think even Trump is probably sitting there asking "How the hell did I suddenly get put in a position where I might win this?"

Here's the funny/sad/strange thing about this election cycle...

Going by all conventional wisdom both of these candidates have survived (and thrived) making massive blunders that would kill ANY other candidate's campaign and would have totally disqualified them in terms of what the parties would normally hold as a standard and what the media would hold as a standard and what the public has generally always held as a standard...and yet here they are both still running absolutely horrible campaigns each of them a few debates and weeks away from getting elected POTUS.

To which I can only say are you fucking kidding me? It's like if you just nuked the entire planet the only two people left alive and standing would be Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Nothing effects them...NOTHING.

When John Kerry was running for president his campaign was slaughtered in the press because he crashed into somebody while skiing. And whoever the guy was that he crashed into claimed Kerry was rude to him and chastised him for causing the accident...which bystanders said was the case. Nobody was hurt, it was no big deal but...Kerry sunk in the polls because he fucking bumped into a guy while skiing! Seriously! He took a major hit for this. Clinton collapses at a major event and it is caught on camera...and this is not even the first time she has been caught on camera collapsing at a public event...and while it has obviously been news it seems so far to have had less of an effect than Kerry's skiing thing.

I mean this doesn't seem odd to you? Even a little? Plus the whole wash, rinse, spin way the media handles both of these candidates? Seriously, Dan, what do you think would have happened if Bernie Sanders collapsed at a public event while running against Hillary and it was caught on camera? And what if there was also video of him collapsing at a previous public event in 2012 where he suffered a concussion? Do you think the media would have camped outside his house and said "Bernie just had a little issue with dehydration and is recovering nicely and will be back on the campaign trail in a few days."

Or do you think they would be broadcasting his collapse every 30 seconds along with video of his 2012 collapse and repeating ad nauseam that this seals the deal on him not being fit for president until the public was all nodding along in unison?

I'm not saying this to bash Clinton, I mean I want her to beat Trump, I'm just saying there seems to be many things that are WAY OFF with this campaign cycle...way, way off.

I'm also not saying the media has only helped Clinton along...they also have been a true force in pushing Trump along as well. They have been HUGE for him. ......................

"And at some point even you need to give the email thing a rest. It was investigated by the FBI with a republican appointed head - and she was found to be not guilty of a crime."

Yes, I put the email thing to bed. I agree it is done. Comey found she had no criminal intent. Nothing to pursue in terms of prosecuting her anymore. However, that does not mean she will not still get asked about it and her poor judgement and now with the new leaked emails from Colin Powell out there making her look bad all over again for it...well...it is not a story that will just disappear. Nor should it really because it is indicative of her "hubris" (Powell's words) and absolutely horrendous decision making skills.
